Pints for Pits and Two Shy Brewing Come Together for a Charity Fundraiser for Saving Grace Pet Adoption

Two Shy Brewing held a charity event on Thursday night (10/27/22), where all proceeds went to support the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center. Terry came across the Pints for Pits event and asked if I would like to go. Of course! Anyone who knows me knows that dogs, and especially Pitbull terriers are my fur babies. I have raised them in the past and had many of these special pups in my care most of the time.

We attended the event and first things first, the dogs. There were several pups running around with their owners, most in costume. Pints for Pits hosted a costume contest to make things more fun. I ran into Carl, one of my favorite buddies. He came adorned in rubber duckie PJ's, and a happy-go-lucky attitude that made me want to take him home with me.

After speaking with his owner, I knew the story behind the beautiful mass of dog sitting in front of me. Carl's gorgeousness was a statement of the love and care he was receiving from his family. He was a foster dog in the beginning, yet became an integral part of his forever family.

As a foster family, it was their duty and desire to bring this canine's health back and make the adorable, beautiful boy he was born to be. The owner shared with us a photo of Carl when they first got him. You could see every aspect of the dog's build. Not because he was muscular and sculptured, but because his skeletal design was only covered by a layer of skin. Tears welled up as I looked at the photo for that second or two. I had to look away after a short glance. The image was an indication of just how abused the animal was in the past.

But now he stood in front of us, a statuesque frame, rippling with muscles and soft, glowing gray fur. He was an absolute spectacular specimen of the Pitbull community.  Not only was Carl well built, but he had the playfulness of a puppy. He was trying to tell his owner that he wanted to venture into the crowd, and I don't mean crowd of humans. There were other pups there to see, things to do, butts to sniff. He was a busy man.

Carl and his leash holder took off to take care of the need to see the others who had come to the event. I felt lucky to have met Carl. He is an amazing man, so well natured and just all around gorgeous!

Terry and I had been working during the day, so the sound of food was eating away at both of us, no pun intended. Terry ordered from the pizza truck, and as we waited, we were able to listen to the live music offered at Two Shy. Tory Rose played well, singing songs such as "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," and others. Her voice was soothing and the accompanying music was great. It was a nice addition to the event, and relaxing after working all day.

There was quite the turnout, and everyone had smiles on their faces. We were shown a couple of baskets by the fundraising team, although we weren't quite sure what was in either of them. The baskets were being auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center.

Two Shy was trying to sell 99 bottles of beer to help with the adoption center's need. I saw many leaving the site as people walked out, however I do not know how many were actually sold. Terry and I left before the event actually ended.

I was unable to get this guy's name, but he was adorable! He was inquisitive and wanted to know what everyone was doing. Very well kept man!

The dogs made it a point to say hello to each other. This must have been the secret meeting spot, as they all seemed to gather here, dragging their humans behind them. I made an attempt to get photos of some, although the fence was in the way.

Eventually it was time to say goodbye to each other and end the night. The dogs were a beautiful sight, as each of them connected with happiness to the other pets brought out to the event. Costumes were judged, and I do believe that my man, Carl, ended up with a prize of some sort. I saw the owner taking Carl out to his car, but he held something under his arm. If that were the case, I'm happy Carl won. He is such a resilient guy with all he has suffered through, but his reward is a loving family. You could tell the dog owned the owner, not the other way around, and bless him and his wife for that. Carl is a beautiful baby.

We ate our pizza, listened to music, watched the dogs, and then Terry and I called it a night. I would recommend this annual event to anyone who carries the love of dogs in their hearts. It was fun, entertaining, and everyone had a good time.
