Sleeping With the Fishes

For anyone who reads the blog, we have introduced our kitty named Kit in a previous post. Now Kit is a bit hyper, getting a case of the zoomies on a regular basis and consistently searching for anything he can get into or attack. Every day if our gorgeous little man gets bored, he begins to scan the room with his azure blue eyes, to find that perfect thing to get into or to locate the dog's location to bug him.

Since we are in a temporary apartment until our home is finished, we have boxes around the room. The boxes sit quietly in the corners, giving Kit the perfect springboard or scratching post. When bored, he scans the room to locate the box of choice. Pouncing on the first box, he jumps from box to box like Spiderman on his quest for a criminal. In this case, Kit is the outlaw. So much for saving boxes to help us move when the time comes.

Kit has shredded just about every box in the house, leaving us box-less upon moving day. He is told sternly to remove his cute furry behind from each box top. He knows what we're saying to him, but proceeds to do what kids do, and that is to completely ignore mom and dad. Kit does it well.

Terry finally found a toy online that turns out to be the best $10 he ever spent on the cat. It's the flopping clown fish. We discussed the toy but were unsure how well it would keep him entertained. Turns out that Kit loves his fish and seems to spend quite a while each day with the Nemo look-alike. But I remind Terry that his animal is broken due to the fact he doesn't pounce on it while it flops. He loves to watch Nemo flop, and then jump on the cloth fish again to get it flipping and flopping all over the floor. I'm going to have to start making the cat some popcorn, as he watches it like TV while it flops itself all over the room. Once calm, he begins the process all over again.

It brings us joy to see Kit enjoy the toy as much as he does. We highly recommend this toy for anyone who has a dog or cat in their life who gets bored. The best part of the fish is Kit actually drags the fish up to his bed and falls asleep with one paw on Nemo. I call this "sleeping with the fishes" as we watch him deep in his slumber with one paw around his buddy.

We wanted to share the memory of Kit and his cute fish friend, Nemo. Here is Kit "sleeping with the fishes." Terry captured this picture of Kit as he drug the fish toward him to take his nap.

Once again, we recommend the flopping fish toy. There are various types of fish you can purchase. We got Nemo online. It came complete with a USB cord to charge the toy when the power is used up. Recharge by plugging into any outlet with a common charging port. The charge typically lasts Kit about four days.

The fish flop when touched. Kit will tap on it and sends the fish in motion. It's perfect! There is no winding it up to get it moving or it's not a toy you have to throw. Kit loves his Nemo buddy and I think your cat or dog will too. You can get trout or goldfish or several other fish types. Amazing toy, fun to watch them play with it, and something that will last. Kit has grabbed the cloth with claws, chewed on it, and even scratched it harshly with his hind legs while holding it with his front paws. It's holding up very well.
