Clubs and Fro Yo

Well, here it is. Another Friday night. Tonight has been a night of laughter and fun, although we sat in our home for the most part. We did take a trip to the bank for our extreme Friday night blast. Banks are always fun. I know. We're just too exciting for our own good.

A small trip anywhere can be great after work. Terry has Fridays off now and the options are endless for us to get into some kind of trouble. For instance, the bank trip. Look at us go. We are the new and improved "power" couple. Tomorrow will be a day of endless adventures and laughter. But for today, the bank trip and going out to eat will have to suffice.

Terry's birthday falls on Tuesday, April 25. My sweet man will turn 67! He's still as handsome and sweet as ever. Maybe a little sassier for the wear, but he's doing great. His eyes have healed from the surgical procedures (laser surgery to fix several tears around his retina), and he has cataract surgery coming next month (May). Beautiful thing, technology.

In any case, he is in the clear. The birthday celebration will commence tomorrow, as we pick up Terry's daughter, Mallory, and head to Eugene. Eugene is home to MetaVRse, a virtual reality gaming center. For whatever strange reason, we thought that might be fun or at least an ingenious way to get off balance and fall to break a hip or something. We are always up for having a blast trying something new. I've never been in a hip cast before. Could be interesting. However, it seems MetaVRse has to be notified of your desire to stare into goggles while trying to fight a pissed off dragon. So, we will have to become sword wielding heroes another day, after we reserve our spot to do so.  For Saturday's adventure, we will remain off our trusty steed and maybe keep things subdued.

So far, we have left the day open to whatever may come our way. We know we will be heading into ... Dare I say it? Texas Roadhouse steakhouse, our commonality with Eugene besides my family and the fact that I grew up there. But before we take the birthday boy into a restaurant to embarrass him with the traditional wait staff singing "happy birthday," we have other things in mind. The ringing of bells and blowing of whistles to ensure every guest in the eatery will turn and stare or glare as the case may be, we are holding the option of visiting the planetarium. We'll see how that goes. Sitting in a chair while viewing beautiful galaxies surrounding us sounds much safer anyway.

But, for Friday night fun, Terry and I remained at home. I worked for the day. We needed to head to the bank, so while we were out, we stopped at Denny's for dinner. I ordered a turkey, avocado, bacon club, and Terry had a Crazy Spicy Skillet, complete with mouth numbing spicy chicken and a collection of jalapenos and other spices that fall on the warmer side of things. It looked good and smelled delicious, but when he picked up a very large piece of jalapeno, yeah. No. Not the dish for me. Look up "spice vagina" in the dictionary and you will see my picture included. Never been a fan.

After eating the food, Terry took me past our turn off onto the main road. I asked where we were going, he looked at me with a rather mischievous grin on his face and replied, "You'll see." Next thing I knew we were pulling up at the local Level Up frozen yogurt shop. Fro yo is so good! It was the perfect way to end a meal. Nice choice, sweet man. Brownie points are given.

Terry ordered a salted caramel dessert, while I find the raspberry is great.

The salty caramel dessert Terry had

Mine was the beautifully colored, fruity raspberry fro yo

One fun note, they serve the fro yo with color changing spoons to make any adult look like a child again. Ah, our wild, crazy nights of partying are just too much.

We waddled our fat bellies out to the vehicle and drove for home before the carb and sugar coma hit. Ending the night with a couple of episodes of The Mentalist, the day was complete. Tomorrow would be yet another day of adventure, as life has become with my sweet man. I am picking up a German chocolate cake and we will head to the eatery that has become our favorite Eugene food joint. Yes, we will be lighting the cake to bask in the glow of 67 candles while the wait staff serenades Terry into complete embarrassment. All is good in the Macrae world. Here's wishing you all a great weekend!
