Safari Animal Parade

As a continuation of Saturday, September 28, 2024, Terry and I drove to a couple of vintage stores in Springfield, Oregon after our outing to Pleasant Hill's Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farm's festival. We were on safari, so to speak. We are hunting the wild safari patchwork designs by La Vie.

I have posted these beautiful pieces before, but now we have added a couple of them to our collection. Terry ordered more too, so we await the arrival of those items as well.

The first set of porcelain beauties in our collection were two giraffes connected by their necks. These two were given to us by Mallory. We loved them but had no idea how these would take us down the path to a nice collection of patterned animals.

Mallory and I were shopping at a couple of the nearby vintage stores around town. At one stop, we found this elephant. Mallory purchased it and gave it to us to go with the giraffes. Awesome surprise and gift!

As Terry and I chatted the other night, I told him I had seen another one of the elephants in that shop on that day, but did not buy it. He wanted to see if maybe we could find it again and purchase it. The following morning, we drove to the store to look again.

That night we researched the animals and found out they are ceramic, and made in a design called Safari Patchwork and they were originally crafted by a company called La Vie. Terry found some pictures online that stated these pieces hailed from the '80s and this intrigued us more.

While we were at the store, I found this little elephant. The other elephant was gone, although I remembered him as having his trunk high in the air like the other elephant Mallory had given us. This made me assume the two connected at the trunks like the giraffes do connect at the necks. We are in search of the other elephant so we would have a matching couple of those.

Meanwhile, hubby Mac went on a search for other animals online. He ordered a gazelle and a couple of other crafted creatures to put in our safari collection. As we add to it, we will be showing those.

Hey, is anyone interested in a Togo puppy?

This pup came from a combing of fur last night. All I combed was the hind hip area for about three minutes to get this new dog. Yep. It's a beauty. Togo got a treat of some chicken broth over his food tonight for his treat. He was a good baby while the thrusting out of the new dog happened. He hates being brushed for too long, so we work for a little while each day. I practically filled the garbage can in the kitchen with his hair. His second shedding needs to end soon!

Saturday night and the game is on! Late game too, airing at 8:00 PM. The Ducks versus the UCLA Bruins. Great game.

The Ducks kept it together in their first big game in the Big 10 conference. It was an away game, too, which made me a bit nervous, as away games tend to be difficult to win. Oregon Ducks flew home with a score of 34 to 13. I love our Ducks!

This weekend was completed after Sunday, September 29, 2024. Nothing was happening today. It was a regular, relaxing day, getting us ready for the busy weekday coming up.

Terry spent time working on both his book and the website. All of that project is almost ready to go. As we've announced before, we will be showing the links to purchase and/or look at the book and link to see the website when the links are ready to go.

He is excited about finally getting it published. It's almost time!
