Be My Valentine and Thai Me Up

Valentine's Day, come and gone. Terry was taking care of some errands and tasks he needed to complete as I was out working. We both finished our duties right about the same time and met at home. I was on a lunch break when he came into the office with his hands full of gifts. What has he done now?
He had a dozen red roses ...
And then, of course, one of the most sentimental, beautiful cards I've received ...
"To my wife, my everything. Of all the souls in the universe, yours is the only one that's just right for mine ..."
"You're the only one who can make me feel this happy, who could open my heart this wide, and make my love run this deep."
"You are and always will be my love, my everything." Terry finished it all off with, "You are my life's dream come true. All my love always, Terry." Of course the tears came while reading this. Enough to water the beautiful roses.
Then he thrust forward his other hand, showing me a green candle. His first remark was that if I didn't like it we could take it back and get another scent, but it's the balsam and cedar, one of my favorites. He chose a perfect candle scent! I love the scent of these two tree types together. It reminds me of the forest and of Christmas. That's always a joyful scent to me since that holiday is special and always filled with love.
It was a perfect day. After I finished work, I rushed to the store to get my own card and gifts to give my hubby. I found a card that said what I wanted to say to a man I'm madly in love with.
My handwriting is a bit sloppy since my "desk" was my steering wheel. It says, "I love you! Heart to heart, 4-ever!"
I snagged a tub of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food ice cream, Terry's favorite. I figured that would suffice as a sweet. I wanted to get him a cake, but that along with going out to the Thai restaurant we love, it would be far too much sugar on top of the dessert plus the ice cream. He loves that ice cream, so that was a must! So Phish Food it is.
A while back I mentioned that I wanted to get him some more Muk Luks. Muk Luks, if you've never heard of them are socks that are thick, warm, and often have a non-skid bottom to them. He loves his pairs that I bought him a couple of years ago but they are wearing out. I can't seem to find any of the beloved socks anywhere except for women. Did men not like them?
When I mentioned the lack of Muk Luks in town, I did tell my husband about the thermal socks or boot socks they sell. He said he sure could use some of those because he does walk Togo out in the cold while wearing his boots I purchased for him Christmas of 2023.
This time I found him a six pack of some nice thermal socks. These will give him something warm to wear with his boots and his crocs as he sits outside to read. The socks were locked up inside of a case at the store. When I found a woman to unlock the case, she locked them inside of a box for me to carry to the counter. I had to laugh at the thought of them just being a simple set of socks. She said there are all sorts of items being stolen, including the socks, that stores have to lock up now. Which, who knew?
Anyway, I found the socks, a card, and the Phish Food. Happy Valentine's Day, my sweet man!

After I came home and gave him what I had purchased, we shared a nice kiss before I rushed into the bedroom to change clothes. Off we went to Seven Thai Restaurant to have a nice dinner and that yummy mango sticky rice dessert. Be still my heart!
This time I ordered the red curry noodles with vegetables and chicken. Amazing coconut noodles with carrots, broccoli, and fresh green beans. Bean sprouts were thrown across the top of the dish, adding a nice fresh flavor. Chicken and mushrooms were in the bowl, giving the meal another layer of goodness. It was spicy, yet the creamy coconut sauce cooled it down a bit. Great dish!
We were so hungry because neither of us had eaten anything during the day. We jumped right into our meals and I didn't stop long enough to get a good photo.
By the time I actually thought about photos, Terry had finished his plate of food and his rice. Oh, well. Sometimes we need to enjoy life's moments firsthand instead of behind a camera lens.
But who can forget the mango sticky rice? Sweet coconut goodness. Warm rice with cold mango, bringing a combination of sweet yet tangy to dessert. Great meal!
Our wonderful evening was finished off by watching one of our favorite shows, "Two and a Half Men." We laughed at the hilarious comedy written into that show. After watching a few episodes, I headed for bed to call Togo onto the bed with me because he cries when he's all alone.
At night we bring Jasper out into the living room for the night and Togo takes his position in our bedroom. He sleeps with us in there with him. Jasper has a nice fluffy dog bed and a blankie to cuddle up with in the living room. The old guy loves it. I place his comfy bed next to the heater vent where he stays nice and toasty through the night.
But our strikingly handsome Togo hates when he is all alone. He's a bit broken with plenty of emotional baggage. That's okay. We work with all of his beautiful, quirky, emotional issues and we both love him with all of our hearts. Since he was adopted, we have no idea what this pup has been through. We just know that he is special and he is loving and worth loving, just the way he is. Broken emotional pieces and all.

Today during my runs, I drove up to a home where there was a gaggle of geese, several ducks, and many very large turkeys walking around. I get a kick out of all the wild turkeys we have in residential neighborhoods now. Yes, they can get a bit aggressive but for the most part they leave things and people alone.
These are the turkeys. I didn't catch any ducks or geese, but they were there. The turkeys were running the other birds off.
As another photo, I captured this one too and I'm not sure what it is. I can't make it out to be anything, really. I'm sure I accidentally hit the button without meaning to. But, I thought the photo was cool looking, whatever it is/was.
No idea what that could have been. It looks like a door lock to me, with my hands around it. Haven't got a clue. Thought it was interesting though. Let us know if you see something in the photo!
Anyway, this was our Thursday and Friday for the week. We have absolutely nothing planned for Saturday or Sunday either. Terry has one extra day off because of President's Day coming up, which neither of us do anything for that day of course. That definitely won't change for this year either.
For now, we will leave this right here. Nothing else to report, like I said, until it happens. Thanks to all of you for reading the blog, such as it is. We do appreciate all of you. You are all special to us. Continue to shine your light!
