Drive to Eugene for a Bridal Shower

My beautiful granddaughter and her fiancĂ© are getting married in December. This means plenty of planning, celebration, and happiness, especially for the women in the family. It also leads to a trip to Eugene, about an hour drive from me. I don't mind driving to Eugene at all, since it is where I grew up and where I raised my family. The family members are still located around the Eugene, Springfield area for the most part.

Patting the three pets on the head and saying goodbye to Terry, I climbed into the car and headed out. The drive was nice, but traffic was heavy. Driving "home" was not bad, as the sun was out, and I had the CD Terry made for both of us in the player. Music was up to a loud volume setting, making the drive fun and gave me company to not get bored.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by family and a few of their friends, along with the family of the groom. It was going to be a good shower. Jessee, my granddaughter, was there with the baby. She looked pretty, and so did her nine-month-old daughter, Zyrah. The room was welcoming. Smiles were on the faces of all in attendance. Jess made her way around the rented cottage, greeting everyone and catching up on any news.

After eating, we played a few games and enjoyed the company around us. A room full of women, there is always something to chat about. There were gifts to open, prizes to hand out for winners of the games, and plenty of chat about the big day. Baby Zyrah, my great granddaughter (left) even had another baby to play with. Tables were topped with small plastic pumpkins, flower arrangements and pieces of confetti shaped as wedding rings and leaves.

My granddaughter-in-law set up the tables with various pieces of decorative creations.

It is times like these that remind me why I am so blessed to have a loving, close-knit, awesome family! I love them all very much and they remind me daily why I am so blessed. Congratulations, Jessee and Brandon! I know you two are very much in love. I know you can make it all work out and have the fairytale love and life many only dream of. I love you both.

After a fun day of love, fun, and celebratory enjoyment, I said goodbye to my wonderful family, climbed in my car and trekked off to my newest blessings of two cats, a dog, and the man I know I am very much in love with. Here's to weddings, family, and love.
