Part Two: Ocean Spiders and Holding Hands

Parking was no problem for us at the beach. I love this area because of the dramatic scenes of waves hitting the rocks, splashing the water high into the air. I was anxious to show Terry this area of the Oregon coast because of the chance to take some awesome photos.

We walked down to the beach and immediately his comments of the beach being beautiful made me happy. I knew he would enjoy this particular beach.

Terry and I have discussed spending a weekend at the coast after we are married, as a short honeymoon type of trip. It wouldn't be long and that's perfect since we do have two kitties and a dog at home.

The photo above was taken out of the vehicle, showing the coastline view of the Heceta Head beach and surrounding areas. The vast ocean views are breathtaking, for the lack of a better word. But, back to the beach. All of us grabbed coats, even though the sun was out, there was a nippy wind as there usually was at this time of year on the Oregon coast.

Walking onto the beach, I noticed the tide moving in. The waves bashed on the rocks along the coast, creating a turbulent photo opp. This is one of the reasons why I absolutely love time on this beach! It's flat, with a small tributary flowing into the ocean. Above the tributary is a beautiful historic bridge dubbed the Cape Creek Bridge. The arch bridge spans Cape Creek, giving travelers the ability to cross waterways along Highway 101, or the US Route 101.

Cape Creek Bridge was built in 1932 and was placed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The beautiful architecture of this bridge has been enjoyed by many, with thousands of photographs taken of it each month. I personally have numerous photos of this bridge.

A smaller tributary flow runs underneath the Cape Creek bridge, into the Pacific Ocean.

The rest of the afternoon was filled with playing in the water, walking over to the rocks to see the caves, watching Zyrah, and getting plenty of photos! I'll leave this here to be able to display the photos we took at the beach. We had an amazing time as usual.

This is a cave entrance along the rock line. If you wish to explore this and other caves, you must do so before the tide comes in!

Terry and I stood on the beach while my granddaughter Jess snapped photos of us. She has a photography business going and loves to catch people in stances that make good photos. Thank you, Jess, for these pictures.

We do thank you once again for reading the blog! Part One of Ocean Spiders and Holding Hands can be read here.
