Flowers, Family, and a Small Poem
As I mentioned in the last post, we have completed the move from our tiny, temporary apartment into an old home that has been cared for well. We completed the adventure yesterday, May 14, 2023. A date to remember for sure! We are exhausted and bruised, but better for the wear.
I know it's not the weekend yet, but I had a little great news to share. I am putting it into a blog post of its own just because it is a day I want to recall later. It was announced to me two days ago that I will once again be a great grandma, twice over! My grandson, Keenan, has met a woman who has a four-year-old daughter. She is beautiful and her daughter is a cutie. With her daughter, Aria, my granddaughter Jessee's daughter, Zyrah, this will be my fourth grandchild actually. My granddaughter, Kaylie is with a man who has a four-year-old child. I cannot wait to meet this beautiful boy or girl. The gender reveal will happen on the 15th of June, just two days before our wedding.
My daughter, Marina will now become a grandmother. By all rights she is already because of Kaylie's stepdaughter, Naomi. She was told last week about the new baby coming, right before Mother's Day. The news, of course, had her crying tears of joy and me as well when she reported the great news to me. Amazing times! Our already large family is expanding, and I cannot be happier. I feel so blessed.
Mallory and I had been putting the new cat tree together, when Terry walked in with a bouquet of flowers. He handed them to me and said, "Happy Mother's Day." They were gorgeous. I love blues and shades of purple together. The flowers included pinkish colored roses, with blue hydrangeas, and stalks of purple flowers, surrounded by various types of foliage. I was shocked!
After putting the cat tree together, Mallory and I headed down to the apartment again. We were finishing up by picking up our cleaning supplies. I finally had that feeling of completion, of sheer joy that the apartment was no longer a source of discontent in knowing I had to clean it up before handing in the keys. As I shut the door for the final time, I was overwhelmed with happiness. It had been a long, hard journey but we were finished.
I began to walk the path to the house when I heard a neighbor call my name. He is an elderly gentleman who lives in the apartments to the side of us. Terry has known him for the four years he has been in the apartment. I had recently met him. His name is Paul. Paul shouted out for me to stop. I stood still and waited for him to walk toward me. I was hoping nothing was wrong.
Instead, Paul reached out with a planter. He had some dahlias planted in it and wanted to give them to me. I couldn't thank him enough. They are a deep reddish orange color and are absolutely stunning. I placed them in the center of our new outdoor table set.
We finished our task of cleaning the apartment, setting up the cat tree, and putting some boxes away. The new furniture needed to be covered as Kit and Bella love to "knead" the cloth. They did on the old stuff at least. They have made themselves at home. Our moving chapter is done. Now it's on to our wedding plans. All is well in the Macrae household another day. We are loving life and looking forward to the home stretch of our years we have been blessed enough to receive. The blessings never stop. Life is great.
Finished off the weekend with relaxation time, flowers, family, and love. Mallory came with us for some fro yo to complete the day. Our bellies are full again, our fur babies are happy to be with us and all is done. I'm ignoring the sea of boxes yet to go. I'm also keeping a blind eye toward our basement where Harry resides. Harry is our resident ghost who keeps turning our light switch on after we ensure we have it off. The adventure has been fun.
Terry, I, and our roommate Harry are settled in. Now the fun begins.
Our move is done.
It's been fun.
More love than ever before
has blessed our front door.
Now we relax and take it slow,
As now we're done with the shit show.
Harry resides in the cellar,
as our ghostly playful dweller.
With more blessings than we can count,
The joy has been paramount.
As time moves toward our wedding vows,
We will begin our life together as time allows.
