Whips, Chips, Dips, and Quips

Have you ever truly enjoyed staying home but do nothing? When I say "nothing," I mean just that. Meaning staring at the TV, snacking, and sometimes waking up halfway during a film with drool rolling down your cheek. That kind of nothing. Becoming a mouth breather. All educational moments in your life have left you. You sit and do nothing. Relaxation at its finest!

This describes our weekend. We have done absolutely nothing of any consequence. I have of course, done the usual chores, such as walking the dog, feeding animals, cleaning out litter boxes, and dishes. Terry has taken care of some business, but other than that, we are in the biggest "blah" moments you can enter, and it feels great!

Mallory (daughter) came over and we chose to take on another movie marathon. I even played hooky on Thursday, to attend. Terry's weekends begin on Thursday now per his request.

The prepping of food began. Pouring salsa and queso into bowls. Chips go in a chip bowl of course. Veggie tray for those moments we tell ourselves we are eating healthy. Mango slices. Jerky. Everything crackers, which are the bomb by the way. The everything seasoning is amazing. I even made six muffins filled with apples and walnuts, plus an apple pie spice that made them even better. Sugar free but did contain regular flour to bring on those carbs! As if we didn't have enough carbs in attendance!

We chose our favorite spots on the couch, placed TV trays in front of us as tables to place all the food, and we started the film. Jasper the chihuahua assumed his position in walking the grounds to ensure a crumb never hit the ground.

Indiana Jones, one through four. Loving that! The viewing and munching began. You never place munchies in front of a group of Anglo Saxons who haven't eaten all day and not expect them to chow down. Feasting activities began as well as viewing the opening credits.

Have you ever noticed when a film gets into a suspenseful scene, the act of shoving food into your mouth is faster? Well, everyone knows Indiana Jones has several acts that are "sit on the edge of your seat" great. Crunching through, we watched the first and second of the franchise, then took a break.

During our break, something came up for Mallory and she took off for the day. We have decided to take up our positions once again on Sunday. The final two movies of the Indiana Jones series will be complete then. While watching the films, I did recall how much I hated the second movie in the series. It seems to be so much darker, and the chanting was even creeping me out. But eating eyeballs, bugs, snakes, and even monkey brains was so gross. Not good. Love the first, third, and fourth of the franchise though. Who doesn't love Indiana Jones?

Our home is once again the relaxing place to be for us. The weekends without anything pressing happening in our schedules and nothing we have to do is all good. I love weekends like these! Two events in our family a couple of weeks ago and it's time to have a nice kick back weekend!

We do hope your weekend is going well, filled with relaxing moments and fun. Remember to have fun! Our blessings are many, but it is important to take time out to realize them. Life gets busy at times and it's difficult to remember just how blessed we are. If you have the Internet to read this post, you're blessed. If you ate today, you are blessed. If you woke up today, that's a blessing. Were you able to walk? Talk? See? Blessings. All of them, blessings.

Have an amazing day and may you find your true happiness in all that you do.
