We were invited to the family gathering for Easter, held by my granddaughter, Jess and her husband, Brandon. A barbecue, egg hunt, and our usual fun times were to be had. Love our gatherings!
My daughter Brandy and her husband, Dan were exhausted from work so they were unable to attend. Marina and her husband John were in Hawaii this year for Easter, so kudos to them. Egg hunts can wait!
We arrived to see the rest of the family and Jessee's paternal side of the family hanging out, laughing and having fun. Good times.
Terry took up a seat at the outdoor table set to smoke a cigar. Brandon started a fire in the fire pit and the festivities began. With plenty of munchies on the indoor island and drinks galore, the party started.
Brandon's Uncle Trevor was holding Jess and Brandon's daughter, Novalee, who was teething and was not having a good day.
Dawn was putting together the eggs for the hunt to be held later in the day, while El tried to assist her. Bella was sound asleep under the table, bored with the day's events.
Rex the dog was helping the girls dig through their basket to find the perfect toy or the most amazing candy.
The fire was aglow and the heat was comforting. It was a chilly day in Junction City.
Zyrah emptied out the Play Doh packages but mom put a squash on that idea. Not outside and definitely not while dirt and nastiness can get in it.
A crowd gathered out by the chicken coop. It dawned on me the chickens weren't the focal point of the day. It was the smoker, cooking up meats for us to eat.
Terry was relaxed and chatting with others.
Yep. Time to take the Play Doh away. Zyrah wasn't real happy with the idea of putting the Play Doh away.
Sitting around chatting and enjoying the company under the overcast skies.
Novalee and El were chasing eggs around the dining room.
Novalee found one and it was quickly made into a chew toy to make her toofies feel better. Teething sucks.
Meanwhile, in the adult world, Coby and his wife Delaney played beer pong but actually the cups were filled with water.
The cake had seen better days. It looked like it had been dropped or crushed slightly. Cute cake though. I guess it was delicious, although I did not try it. Terry had a small piece after dinner and thought it was good.
We were all so happy that Lorenzo was able to come! He left his electric chair at home but brought the regular chair. It made me smile to see him attend.
Jess, Dawn, and I were sitting inside chatting while nibbling on some of the munchies left out on the bar. Hawaiian punch, 7-up, and sherbet was the punch for the day. Veggies and fruits, veggie bars, chips and dips, and deviled eggs were the snacks offered. So good!
Nova was handed a bowl of potato salad. She loved the stuff so much it became a quick meal!
She became upset when the food was gone.
Jessee took this photo of her with a basket of eggs. This was taken a day or two before the Easter egg hunt of today.
The moment the kids were waiting for ... the Easter egg hunt of 2025. Eggs were filled with lots of candy, money, and other fun items. Zyrah and guests were having a good time searching for all the plastic eggs, poop emojis, and other coverings for the treasures inside.

We arrived home after a day with family. Terry and I discussed the happenings of the party, both deciding it was worth the trip! Blessed with the family we have.
The climbing roses are blooming and spring has definitely arrived. Easter is the landmark that, in my opinion, tells me summer is coming shortly. Cloudy skies or not, the day was fun and filled with family love as always. Memories were made and will forever settle in my heart.
We make a wish that you and your loved ones, whether friends, family, or neighbors have an awesome weekend. May your life be filled with love and your blessings be counted.
Thank you again for reading the blog. We do appreciate you all.
Happy Easter!
