Magical Fibers of Love and Happy Bird Day

There must be something in the air when Togo has his snoot pushed up high to take in all of the scents traveling across the wind. Probably someone just cooking breakfast. After our walk, I plucked some tufts of hair out of him, meaning he is blowing his coat again. It's time to brush this dog until he has no fur left, although that will never happen. You can never get all of the fur off of a husky by brushing him or her.

Togo refuses to stand still while I'm brushing. He loves to flip and flop like a fish out of water, to ensure I can't stay on one side or the other. He will lie on the floor or at least assume the sitting position if I brush him while he's on the floor. When I grab the comb or brush and begin his routine while on the couch, that's when he flops back and forth.

Remnants of our beautiful drama queen dog after brushing through his fur twice before taking him in.

Another portion of the dog after the rain hit it. I brushed him here for about five minutes. That was it. Mr. Swanky Pants needed a break.

Even walking to the front porch, the pooch has tufts of hair standing out, demanding to be removed. I pluck him on the way in usually.

Fur gets into the spaces between the steps to the house even. I brushed the couch today, with the Playtex gloves and removed another dog from our furniture. Even the vacuum doesn't get enough out of the couch fibers to make it worth the trouble. It takes me about two hours to clean the couch well enough to be able to feel good about it.

Our beautiful boy is worth every magic fiber he drops on our floor, our furniture, and our clothing. I won't even discuss the hair in a car after one trip up the road and back. He is a dog that gets brushed all the time but still leaves massive amounts of hair lying around. His baths, then blowing of the coat works a bit, but then he's dropping fur again.

This video is so true. I think the breed is interesting.
Our baby's namesake, Togo, is talked about in this video. Amazing breed.

In the video, it says these dogs rarely bark. This is true of our Togo. The only time I hear him let out a bark is when he mixes it with a howl to let me know he either needs to go out for a walk or if he is hungry. Terry gets him to dance into the other room in the evening when it's feeding time. He loves his dinner!

If you are considering a Siberian husky as your next pet, be aware they do need walking or running, and the hair ... oh, my, the hair! You will never successfully keep the husky from shedding. You can brush the poor creature for hours and they still shed. Each time you go out, you are taking at least a little bit of the fur baby with you, on your shirt, pants, coat, and even shoes.

Planning to take your husky out? Make sure you put a blanket or sheet or seat cover in your car where your husky will be sitting. Then be prepared to wash that seat cover, blanket or sheet every week if not more. I wash our couch covers once a week and still have dog hair all over them when it comes time to throw them into the machine.

Huskies are a lot of work, along with being drama queens and pouters. While this is all true, I will never regret having our Togo. Once he goes, I would definitely think about getting another husky. I love each and every flying hair that comes off of my bestie and would never get rid of him for any reason. The only problem with any animal though is that they simply don't live long enough.

Hey, babe? Can we get an elephant?

Wow. Another awesome Thanksgiving Day! The only thing missing was the other half of our family. Dawn held the gathering at her home again (poor Dawn), and it went off without a hitch. The meal we shared was so good, the company was perfect, of course, and the laughter was unbeatable.

Dawn and her hubby, Andy, made two turkeys and a ham. They were having a competition of sorts, to see who had the best turkey. Dawn carefully basted her turkey often as it baked in the oven. Andy? He brought out a turkey oil fryer, set it up in his driveway, and the fun began.

My grandson, Coby, helped Andy keep an eye on the temperature and I do believe I saw some cravings for turkey in there as well. We were all getting excited, at least what we could hear over our stomachs rumbling. Put two men near the house with a vat of steaming hot oil and beer in hand ... what could possibly go wrong?

The temperature was checked again. Once the oil hit the proper temp, it was an hour of cooking before he could place his turkey into the competition against his wife.

Both turkeys were done. Andy brought his in. Dawn pimped her bird one more time before taking it out to the table. We had the aroma of turkey floating through the house and outside too. Sweet potatoes, bread, stuffing, gravy, and all the fixings added to the smell and made the already intense wait even stronger. Oh, turkey day!

The buffet table was set up and trays were being filled. The wait was unbearable. Memories came into play with each whiff. Thanksgiving Day shared between us as family in the past were all great memories. I used to make dinner on this glorious day built for family, sharing love, and pure gluttonous activities had by all.

I looked around the room. My grandchildren who used to be so young, would come with their parents to my home, where I would have dinner in the oven. Now they're all adults, with a couple bringing up children of their own.

I'm proud of my family. The young adults they have all become, and raising their kids to be good human beings as well. My grandchildren who have kids are now raising their offspring to be good people. It's all the circle of life, and the love that is passed on from generation to generation. I had to catch a tear from streaming down my face as I watched my kid, Dawn, and her children chase after the toddlers in the house, my great grandchildren. It's just a special moment that hits once in a while. I love my family dearly.

On the couch I see my husband of a little over two years sitting on the couch, smiling as he watched everyone swoop from one end of the house to the other, chasing toddlers and putting food out for our feast. This sight made me smile. He is my people and fits into the family very well.

Terry brought up the fact that he proposed to me three years ago, on Thanksgiving Day, in front of my family. It was right here, in Dawn's home. That was November 2022, and we were married on June 17, 2023. Absolutely no regrets, even though the marriage came shortly after we met.

Lately I have been watching the show Married at First Sight. Wow, what a shit show that can be! I've always been curious about people and how they think, what is it that brings us to a point to marry a complete stranger?

I usually sit for a few moments after each episode, pondering that thought. It seems that each time I see a showing of a new couple, they marry, they're all excited, and then two weeks in they are crying, "Oh, my God. What have I done." The episodes continue to come, meaning there are a lot of men and women who do the same thing over and over and over again, even after seeing the show. Is it the idea of fame on television?

Anyway, Terry and I seem happy for now, and hopefully always. We have it in our minds that we are each other's last hurrah in life. I guess if you set your mind to it, you can accomplish it, right? I have found it's mind over matter.

But I digress. Back to our family Thanksgiving. Like I said, I was sitting back watching the commotion and delighting in every moment of it. Watching my family living their lives makes my heart fill with joy. Beautiful, loving, kind people who have done well in life. I'm proud of every one of them.

Ms. Bella sat and watched people swish around to get the turkey and ham on the table too. A girl after my own heart.

Little Elle chose a better spot by climbing underneath the table where the food is being placed. I mean, after all, you sure stand a better chance of food being dropped while a group of hoomans are putting food on their plate while chatting with others.

Oh, yeah. The food is almost ready. The dogs are definitely sitting in wait. They want that turkey they have been smelling all day.

The gravy is being poured into the warmer. We are ready to hear the dinner bell sound off ...

The last of the food is put on the table. I do believe it's ready!

From all the corners of the house, we hear the call we have been impatiently waiting for. "Dinner!"

Again this year, the bestest dinner ever! The deep fat fried turkey is moist and delicious. The oven baked turkey is heavenly. I would say it's difficult to choose. I love turkey!

Now we are all just sitting around, enjoying each other's company. I love my family.

A few of us even weathered the cold to sit outside and chat with those who smoke.

Our day was wonderful. I'm so thankful for the family, my husband, our home, and of course our fur babies. But there is so much more to be grateful for. I can breathe. I can walk, talk, laugh, cry, enjoy life, and most of all, I am grateful to know I understand all the gifts in my life. Nothing can be taken for granted, that's for sure. I can see. That's an amazing gift, one that I am very thankful for.

Our ride home was peaceful and quiet. We discussed how blessed we are, as human beings, and as partners, as family members, and as people in love. We are truly blessed. Thank you, Spirit, for all of our blessings and for another beautiful, joyful Thanksgiving Day spent with those we love.

I'm ending this here. We do wish you all an amazing Thanksgiving and hope your day was filled with beautiful blessings, no matter how you spent the day. With love, light, and wishes of joy in your life, we bid you adieu until our next post. Take care!

From our family to yours:
Wishing you happiness, health, and abundance.
