Make a Wish

A party on Saturday, and a party on Sunday. Terry's birthday was on Saturday, which brought about a party in Eugene at my granddaughter Jessee's home. After a night of letting our bellies and minds settle once we drove the hour and 20 minutes home, the following morning we got back on the road and went to Springfield for my granddaughter Kylee's birthday. It's been a very busy weekend.

Terry and I love the family gatherings because we love our family. That's what happens when you get older. Most of the younger people in the family dismiss the importance of these gathering somewhat, but as they grow older, they will understand how vital they are in keeping the family close. Family is everything to me. Terry loves our family and he's always ready for some cake too, and that is a beautiful thing to enjoy life with the things you love.

Kylee is turning 24 years of age. Boy, I recall that age. I had so much fun, always believing it would take forever to get old. Yeah, no such luck. Don't get me wrong. I love my life and I love all the years I have been afforded yet it seemed to have sped by faster than I thought it would. Live your life to the fullest every day. All those years definitely fly by quickly.

Our beautiful Kylee is also about to graduate from the beauty college as a nail stylist. She is passing tests left and right and is putting a lot of effort into everything she does for that certificate. We are all proud of her, as we are all of the grandkids who fight for what they want in life.

Between the anxiety and stress of the school process and the birthday party hype, it was a lot of events going all at once. She handled it like a boss. Our family members deal with a lot of high anxiety, including Kylee. Like I said, she was to the brink of breaking from the stress of school but passed it all like a champ. Once again, congratulations, Kylee.

Excuse the off-key voices. We are not singers.

Ky's beautiful cake was an ice cream cake. Strawberry ice cream between layers of red velvet cake. It looked wonderful. I did not have any due to the high sugar content. Terry said it was good. I just had my bloodwork return with excellent numbers for the A1C which is now at 5.7 and do not wish to mess with it.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the blend of flavors together. I knew when I returned home again, I would have a piece of my sugar-free chocolate cake with sugar-free chocolate pudding on top. Although I should have or could have brought a piece to eat while everyone was eating this cake, I can maintain my craving until I return home.

Before we celebrated with cake and ice cream however, Dawn and her husband Andy barbecued some hamburgers and cheese dogs for us. Along with the meal, we had side dishes of baked beans, chips and dips, and corn on the cob, plus a few avocados were sliced up for our enjoyment. It was good.

Dawn and Andy were kept busy, cooking up the meal that was being served.

Kylee stood, watching her mom finish up the dinner. She and her boyfriend, Cam were hungry.

Terry sat at the ready, with fork in hand and a desire for ice cream cake in his heart. I am kidding about the fork of course.

My son-in-law was keeping my great-granddaughter Sage happy while we waited on food. Sage is Keenan and Katie's third daughter. Adorable little girl.

We were blessed to have my daughter Marina and her husband John's foreign exchange student with us for the day. This beautiful girl's name is Amelia. She is from Poland. She is a sweetheart.

Then there is my grandson, Keenan, and his beautiful wife, Katie. I have no idea what they are giggling about and didn't ask. I found it's best to just keep your head down and keep moving. LOL.

I have no idea what this hand gesture means but I assume it's not something grandma would be happy about if she did know. Brandon, my granddaughter Jessee's husband, is posing for this photo with a smile that makes me wonder what he is gesturing to me. LOL. I asked. He said it was some Star Trek thing, but I used to watch that show. I do know that the crap was getting deep in the house. Grandma's not that ignorant, but nice try. Once again, I'm not asking. Don't want to know.

My beautiful granddaughter, Jessee, who is trying desperately to disappear. She hates when I take photos, yet she stands in front of the video camera at home taking TikTok videos the day before. Go figure.

We had an amazing time, filled with more love, laughs, and joy. It was such a great weekend doing what we love to do in visiting our family. I always have such a good time, no matter what we choose to do at these gatherings.

These people are my loves, my heart, my soul, and I don't care what we do, as long as we spend time together. It's such a beautiful thing sharing love between us. I thank Spirit every single day for my family and friends, and even my enemies, as they teach me lessons. Blessings come in all forms.

Bless you all for reading our blog. It is a place for us to fill with memories so we can look back on our lives and smile. Terry and I are about to celebrate our third wedding anniversary in June, on June 17th to be exact, with a trip to Disneyland. As long as things go as planned, we will be driving and enjoying a few days together in the world of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I have never been, so my husband wants to take me there, at least once, to fulfill that hole in my imagination of what it would be like.

Until then, and until our next blog post, we wish you all the joy, happiness, and love in your life that we have. You get what you give, so be sure to love as much as you can. Live as much as you are able, and definitely, give others the happiness you feel, as it will return to you in triplicate.

We appreciate all of you. Be gentle with yourselves. Hugs to you all.
