Grateful for Abundance

Abundance. What a beautiful word. Abundance. Definition? Abundance means "plentifulness of the good things of life." How does it get better than that? I can see. I can breathe, walk, talk, hear, and think. I have clothes to wear, a loving large family. I have a home, a car, and a houseful of awesome fur babies and a loving husband who tells me he loves me every day. Better than that, he shows me he loves me too.

I am not boasting that my life is perfect, nor am I saying my life is better than anyone else's beautiful life. I'm merely saying that I am happy. Happier than I have ever been at this point in my journey on this rock. I wish nothing but pure happiness and joy for each and every one of you as well. Terry and I feel blessed to have each of you reading the blog, sharing in the memories we have, and hopefully enjoying the words, poetry, and pictures. Bless you all and we do hope life is good for you.

Abundance. I have been looking at the word all week as I have written it a couple of times and have seen it in articles and pieces I have been reading. I noticed the word "dance" in abundance. That makes sense. When I see abundance and know it is surrounding me in many ways, it makes me want to get up and do a happy dance. The word is precious and it is lovely.

As I wait out my time for delivery calls to come through, I have found myself craving some jewelry making fun again. Mallory came by a week ago and with her she brought a couple of vintage brooch pieces that have the backs broken off of them. She gave them to me to see if I could do anything with them like I did to another pair of vintage brooches in the past.

The new brooches are Christmas holiday themed and could be fun to see what I can do with them. I'm thinking either necklaces or possibly a pair of earrings with a little work.

If I choose to create earrings, I will have to remove the white rhinestone in the center of the one on the right and add a red stone instead, so it matches the other one. If I choose to make a couple of necklaces, I can leave the colors just the way they are. Necklaces would be simpler, but I am Capricorn in nature, hear me roar. In fact, I'm a triple Cappy, so I'm triple stubborn. Why go with something easy when I can dig myself into a deeper, rougher hole?

I was also given these cute sea turtles by Mallory to see if I could figure something out for them. Once again, I can craft a couple of necklaces with these and probably keep one. Or I could make a pair of cute earrings from these. Rough decision.

This will give me something to do while I'm sitting on my ever-enlarging butt while I wait for deliveries. It has been fairly busy though, so it can change course at any given moment. I do still have my turquoise and Venetian African trade bead necklace to complete as well. Actually, the styles, colors, and designs are endless with all the beads I have laying around in the house. I believe with the extra time I have and all of the tools, findings, beads, and pendants in stock, it's time to do something with them again.

Sunday, May 17th rolled around. Weatherwise, the day was gorgeous. Not hot but in the 70s. I chose to go do some deliveries because it was such a welcoming day of spring. I did have quite a few deliveries too, so that made the day move along at a steady pace.

As I'm on a break, my husband walks through the door with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, celebrating our monthly anniversary date. Our three-year mark is next month, on the 17th. We will be loading up the car to travel to California from our Oregon home, to go to the place most people go when traveling California - Disneyland.

Yes, my hubby is 70 years of age, and I am 68 but we are going to see the big mouse and his entourage. I've never been to Disneyland, so this is the reason my husband picked Disneyland for our anniversary. He wanted to make it special to let me put on some mouse ears and watch fireworks in front of the castle for once in my life. I can't wait until next month. Of course, we will have tons of photos to show in the blog and to the family.

A beautiful bouquet to honor our anniversary date is always on my desk each month. Terry has never had a month slip by that he did not shower me with flowers to say, "I love you." Even a month when he underwent a surgery, he still purchased flowers to bring home. The flowers were a day or two late, but who cares at that point? The generous, sweet man still brought me flowers. I love his kind heart.

Togo had a vet visit today (Tuesday, May 19, 2026). He had one shot given by syringe, one given by mouth while the syringe was covered in cheese, had his ears checked which he cannot stand. His hips were fine, his heart beating strong, and he scarfed about five or six dog cookies, after I found out he is about 80 pounds ... approximately 20 pounds overweight. Very nice.

As I was out running deliveries on Saturday, I was given one pick up at Mountain Mike's pizza shop. It seems like a nice enough place. I went once with Dawn, Jessee, and the girls when they visited Roseburg one weekend. It was pretty good.

I love the idea of the snow-covered mountain with three tables that look like ski lifts. Clever. If you're ever in Roseburg, Mountain Mike's is a good place to go. It's about as expensive as other pizza shops such as Abby's Pizza Parlor and places in that realm.

Lots of cheese and beautiful ingredients. Makes me drool every time.

Pepperoni pizza is one of the favorites at this location.

There are many options at Mountain Mike's Pizza, including their new parmesan garlic pizza. Who doesn't love parm and garlic together on pizza?

But Abby's Pizza parlor is not without some bragging rights. They produce the best taco pizza I've ever eaten and have for many years. Our family has eaten at Abby's for many, many years. Not only is their pizza top notch, but oh, my olives, their chicken and fried potatoes the best ever! Dip in some ranch and enjoy your lunch, dinner, or hell, even breakfast in my house when we bring some of the Abby's delights home as leftovers. A big, fat, neon YUM goes out to Abby's too.

Abby's taco pizza, with refried beans and taco sauce as a base, hamburger, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and tortilla chips thrown in for that crispy crunch that makes this pizza the best. Always has been and will always be my favorite pizza. Not saying I won't try others, but when I think of pizza, this pizza is sitting atop a spinning gold tray, with rays of light shooting up from its heavenly self. As I said, "Yum!"

Well, lovely friends, thank you so much for reading the blog for the week. We will return with more adventures, fun, laughter, and life in general next week. You are appreciated! Remember to be grateful for all that you are given, and all that you have. The air you breathe, your health, your friends, and even your enemies that you learn lessons from. Be kind to yourself and to others. Until our next post-
