Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Through the Looking Glass--Part Deux

Thank you for joining us again, on this latest post. Our Disneyland adventure continues. Today, it is the rides and the activities that we came to the land of the big mouse for. Here we go ...

So, where shall we begin this adventurous day? I let Terry guide us since he already knows the place well. He did an excellent job at taking us where we would have the most fun.

But first, one must stop at the sword from Sword and the Stone to give it a yank. Will it come out? Is Terry the chosen one?

Ah, not today my warrior. Not today.

We did stop by to see Snow White and the little dudes. It was complete with a pretty fountain and waterfall, flowing into a pond.

The first ride we came to was Peter Pan. Terry asked if I wanted to go on this ride, and of course, I couldn't resist. I had never been on any of these rides, so let's get this show on the road.

Standing in line, watching the other riders getting ready to go, it didn't seem all that scary. I guess we'll see. It has been so many years that I have ridden any type of ride. This will be interesting. Hopefully there will be no vomiting. Who knows what the age difference will bring. Sometimes I trip over my own feet at this age. We'll see.

We made it through the line, finally. Here we go.

Beautiful way to unfold the tale of Wendy, Peter, and the other characters of this story. Mild enough for children, yet colorful and cool enough to be a great ride for adult-children as well. Your eyes wander around the space in an attempt to see all of the characters, colors, and scenes intended for you to see. Voices came out of various places in the ride to create a full-blown movie-type setting. So much fun.

When Terry was a child, he used to love Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland. He said this was a must ride for him, so I was excited to see what it was all about and to join him in childhood fantasy for a while.

After seeing all of the images outside the ride, I could not wait to get on this ride. I have never read anything about Mr. Toad, his wild ride, or even his personality to know what was happening in this adventure. I guess we will find out.

We counted the people waiting to ride, and it appeared that we would get the Toady car. Seems fitting.

Standing in line was a lot of fun as well. We had a great view of all types of Mr. Toad things.

Nice chandeliers hung from the top of the "castle" ceiling, giving visitors a feel of actually being in a castle.

Reaching the front of the line, we watched as cars came out of two big doors on one side, then turned and went back inside through the doors on the righthand side.

Finally, our turn rolled around.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was fun. Plenty of adventure, bold colors, interesting storyline. I will definitely have to read the book to get into this tale.

Walking through the town again, I noticed a couple of characters walking past us. Deep in a crowd was Pinocchio and Geppetto.

I had caught a glimpse of Goofy earlier too, but just a quick glimpse. Not long enough to have time for a photo. Seeing these two made me smile and is a great opening for our next ride, Pinocchio's Daring Journey. Settling into another long line, we awaited entrance into Geppetto's workshop.

I was able to cut through the darkened environment to capture a couple of okay photos, but Terry filmed another video for me.

Pinocchio's Daring Journey was fun, overall. The ride takes you through Pinocchio's early days and into the bad boy journey he goes on. The ending is sweet with Pinocchio back in the workshop with Geppetto as he turns into a real boy.

Now, who can forget Alice in Wonderland?  I sure can't. Hopefully our heads are still intact after meeting the Queen of Hearts. Here comes another line. My back and feet were beginning to ache. We had not sat down for a while. Terry's recent surgically fixed knee was beginning to show signs of being tired, but mostly his feet. Oh, boy.

But stand in line we did and I'm glad we did.

I love the Cheshire cat and this entire story. The ride definitely contained highlights of the story and made it worthwhile. Once again, as with all of these rides, it is a roller coaster style ride, although it remains mild enough to handle without issue. Great ride.

Rick, Terry, and me were walking around the park, trying to figure out what ride comes next. I wanted to experience it all; however, one day is not enough time to see everything all of the places covered in Disneyland as a whole. We were being picky and choosing ones that Terry thought I would enjoy. I spotted a submarine and a large sign boasting submarine rides. I asked about the ride and my hubby replied that he had been on it many years ago and found it to be fun. I wanted this ride next!

Our journey for the day is not over. We are going to end this post here to keep it simple and short. The best part of our journey happens on our next post. Please join us!

Thank you for reading the blog.
