Three Wild and Crazy Old People

We had ridden the storybook rides and had a good time. But I kept looking at the huge mountain-style ride standing tall above the rest of the park. It looked like a lot of fun.

First, we had seen a submarine, and I would love to try that ride. I could not wait and Terry and his brother, Rick, were both happy to go on it too. Waiting in line for a bit, then down into a spiral staircase, squeezing us into a small submarine was quite the experience. I am claustrophobic, so I was hoping I could maintain. Being the first one onto the water-bound ship, I chose the first seat toward the front. There were seats folded up against one long rail in the center of the sub. I moved to the very end and pulled my seat down.

Each seat had a porthole in front of it so the rider can see out of the window and enjoy the main point of the ride. Terry sat next to me, then Rick made his way into the seat next to his brother.

There were cute barnacles and mussels, along with some starfish and various aquatic pieces designed into the walls of the underwater features outside. Very cute.

As the ride was ready to begin, I grabbed my camera and began to film the entire ride as best I could. Hold your breath and stay in your seat. Dive! Dive! Dive!

Whew! That was an awesome adventure. I have to say, that was on a list of four favorite rides for the day. You could feel the submarine actually going under water and surfacing again too. When you're outside, the water was pretty shallow, with all of the magical scenes not too far below. It's an amazing thing to have it set up that way. I was impressed. Of course, I guess bugs on a weed outside impress me. Friends who follow the blog have seen my photos of weeds that I've taken. But I did love this ride.

The wilder, not quite so subtle rides are next up. Both of the guys wanted to take on Star Tours. I had no idea what the hell this was, but I'm willing to take it on. Let's go.

When I arrived, I was confused. It was Star Wars but called Star Tours instead. Whatever floats their ship, I guess. Off we went. I love Star Wars, even though it's called Star Tours. I found out the Disney people created the name Star Tours due to the ride's function. It is to take visitors on a "tour" of the Star Wars theme. All I know, is wow! Was it ever awesome! Love this ride! Definitely in the top four rides.

We stood in yet another line, and this one was a long one. If this is an indicator of how popular this ride is, I'm in for a great experience.

A mechanized C3PO stood at the helm. He would turn and move around, push buttons, and even speak. It was cool if you're a fan, and even cool if you're not.

A mechanized R2D2 would reply with his bleeps, squeaks, and odd sounds. It was quite the display.

Eventually we made it to the front of the line. I was getting excited and the curiosity kept me moving.

Before you watch this video: Please note that it is in a 3D style of filming. We all had 3D glasses on while viewing the screen.

One of the most interesting, funny, amazing, awesome rides I have ever been on. I would have to say that this ride gets a good second place on the list of top four rides. If you get a chance to go on this ride, I highly recommend you do. Even us older people got off the ride talking about how awesome it was. It gets four out of five Mickey ears. 🐭

Now, the ride was great, and we couldn't stop talking about it. But this was not the end of the fun stuff about this ride. There is a Star Trader shop you will step into as soon as you leave the ride. We got lost for about an hour or so in the creative, fascinating store. Terry was looking over some items. He turned and said that I should pick out something as a souvenir. As I looked around at people inside the store, I noticed there were a lot of them wearing Mickey Mouse ears. Hmm. Cute idea.

I began to look through the ears with Terry. Immediately dropping the Mickey ears, I knew for a fact that I had just spotted the perfect ears for me.

I had found some baby Yoda (Grogu) ears. I loved them. They were mine and they fit my personality more than Mickey ears. My husband looked at me and began to laugh. He told me they were perfect. He sent the photo to our family group chat and said, "The incredible woman I married three years ago, lovely and weird as ever, and I couldn't love her more ... at least until tomorrow."  As Yoda would say, "Good inside I did feel." My daughters all got a great laugh out of it, but they were happy to see we were enjoying the trip and having fun. That we were.

As time went on, I ended up with a bubble machine as well as the ears. I saw kids outside enjoying bubble blowing from a Mickey Mouse blowing machine. I wanted one. Terry told me to go back in and get one. We looked them over. There were Ariel machines, Mickey, and others too. I chose Mickey to remind me of my wonderful trip with my husband to Disneyland. Such a special day.

I stood in the center of a sidewalk to take a photo with my ears and bubble machine. Terry snapped a couple of photos of me, well, being me. I told him I was a hot mess before we got married ...

In the posing for pictures, I pulled the bubble blower a bit too close to my face, trying to be a smart ass. Bubbles went up my nose and into my eyes. Maybe I should leave the fun stuff to the children.

My hubby laughed. I got it together again and we tried taking another one.

Keeping my eyes closed so I didn't get the soapy stuff in them, Terry snapped it. Ah, but it didn't end there. The smart ass sent the photo to the family chat again with the words, "I'm so proud, LOL!" In return, we saw, "WTH mom?" and "LOL mom. That's cute." It was a fun moment, bubbles in the eyeballs and all.

I am still playing with my bubble blowing machine. I love the colors along with the bubbles. Showing our husky when we returned home, he ran. Not his thing.

Later on, Terry purchased a metal light saber that is pretty dang cool, and a t-shirt. I also purchased a shirt before leaving. We were like two kids in a candy store, that's for sure.

They had some decor inside the store that I had to check out as well.

Now for the even better stuff. The Matterhorn. That awesome mountain I have been watching all day long, wondering what it's like. I could see people in the cars, going in and out of openings in the mountainside, screaming. Not simple, oh, this is great screaming but screaming. I was a bit concerned.

But the guys wanted to take on the Matterhorn, so here we go. What doesn't kill you will make you stronger, right? Oh, we're so gonna die.

Wow! I loved that ride! The Matterhorn deserves a good, solid five Mickey ears out of five. That was fun! I will definitely remember that ride for the rest of my life.

Our last ride of the day was one that shocked my girls that I even thought about riding it. It's a crazy slam you from side-to-side ride. This is why Terry and I chose not to film this ride due to the slamming and bashing up against each side the ride makes you do. We could probably not hold onto our phones. Instead, I have traded it for a video a professional filmed from LMG Vids and can be found on YouTube.

The ride that is about to take place is beautiful and encompasses space as we know it. Gorgeous galaxies and stars are surrounding you in a peaceful, dark setting as though you were traveling through space yourself. That is until it wakes you up with the first tilt of the car to one side, then rapidly slams you to the other side, making a very sharp corner. This happens back and forth for a while. I actually became a bit queasy during this ride, even though it was a blast! I believe it was mainly due to the exhaustion we were feeling at this time of the day.

Here is the video. We hope you enjoy it as we did.

I was glad to touch ground again once this was over. Although it was a blast, it was nice to know I was still alive and that I had not lost lunch yet. We stepped up and out of the car, and as a collective group, we staggered out of the building. Our asses were whipped.

Rick went to find Brenda and Terry and I chose to go to the local Rose Taverne that was designed around the Beauty and the Beast film. Before we got there though, we enjoyed a cream cheese stuffed pretzel and oh, my joy. I need to make some pretzels and fill them with this beautiful substance.

Terry and I were literally so exhausted that he could barely walk, with every step hurting his feet, and sometimes feeling it up into his knee. I felt like my injured ankle was going to break off it was so swollen and heavy, and that I was going to collapse from heat and exhaustion. We finally made it into the building and plopped onto chairs.

My love was brave. He stood up, shook off the pain once more, and went to order us a salad and drinks. The ice water and his soda hit the spot, that is for sure. We were both overheated, sunburned a bit, and hurting so bad a hot tub probably would not cure it.

My poor man is so exhausted. I hate to see him in pain.

I am so beat my ears are beginning to flop like a rabbit's set of ears. Terry purchased a light saber drinking cup too. The inside of the cup lights up with blue lights.

Once we were at least able to unlock the muscles in our legs, we began the trek across the park, heading toward the city center again. The fireworks were about to begin, and we were searching for Brenda. We never did find her while we were there. Rick found her, of course, later on and they left the park. We stayed as long as we could. The entire show was not complete but still, the gist is there.

Our trip was the most incredible, fun, loved moment of my life. Terry hit this gift 100% on point. He said he enjoyed watching me and my reactions, and for that, I truly love him.

Happy anniversary sweetie. Now for our fourth year. Let's see what mischief we can create ...

Love to you all. We appreciate each one of you. Thank you for reading the blog. We always hope you enjoy the memories we make as much as we do.
